Recorded in 2017, Compositions of Life is a podcast documentary about master pianist, gospel singer, recording artist, choir director, and piano teacher: Doris Fiddmont Frazier. Directed by her grandson, Cliff Frazier III, the documentary traces Doris’ upbringing as the ninth child of twelve kids in St. Louis, career as a gospel performer in The Fiddmont Singers, and life as a mother and wife.

Mrs. Doris Fiddmont Frazier is a St. Louis institution, honored for her untiring efforts in promoting education, understanding, and goodwill in race relations. As leader of Doris Frazier and the Fiddmont Singers, she has inspired audiences for years through her music. Whether she’s sitting behind a grand piano during a church sermon or dynamically stringing the notes of a gospel song together, Doris exemplifies inspiration, spirit, hope, love, and keeping the faith.

History on the Move: One-Room Schoolhouse En Route to Faust Park

A structure previously known as African School No. 4 in the Chesterfield School District is being relocated from its current location on private land on Wild Horse Creek Road to the Historic Village at Chesterfield’s Faust Park.

THE DORIS FIDDMONT FRAZIER FOUNDATION (DFFF) MISSION IS TO PROVIDE EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT, MENTORSHIP, AND SCHOLARSHIPS FOR TEACHERS AND STUDENTS OF ALL AGES WHO WISH TO LEARN MUSIC AND PROMOTE THE PERFORMING ARTS. THE NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION IS ALSO DEDICATED TO COLLECTING AND PRESERVING ITEMS RELATED TO DORIS FIDDMONT FRAZIER’S LEGACY, AS WELL AS SUPPORTING INDIVIDUALS AND GROUPS WHO FOLLOW IN HER SPIRIT.
